What.

I’ve Planted this Week

Starting a gardening blog as the season is winding down was not the best planning but in the spring, I really don’t have the patience to sit inside and type when there are so many things to be done.

Too Bad.

The good news is that autumn is an excellent time for planting just about anything other than annuals. So I am just going to skip over all the stuff I’ve planted in the past three or four months.

Week ending Monday 10/11/10

Small pots from High Country Gardens:

  • Penstemon ‘Red Riding Hood’ — Beardtongue (Cannot help but wonder what the Elizabethans would have made of that name!)
  • Penstemon pinefolius ‘Tall Orange Mix’ — Pineleaf Beardtongue
  • Salvia greggii ‘Furman’s Red’— Bush Sage
  • Thymus serpyllum ‘Ohme Garden Carpet’ — Creeping Thyme

Bare root from Prairie Moon Nursery:

  • Lupinus perenne — Wild Blue Lupine
  • Epilobium angustifolium — Fireweed
  • Helianthus maximilii — Maximilian Sunflower

Crazy Cheap from Adams Fair Acre Farms

  • Tiarella cordifolia ‘Running Tapestry’ — Foam Flower
  • Filipendula ulmaria ‘Variegata’ — Queen of the Meadow, Queen of the Prairie, Meadowsweet (hence my propensity to go with the botanical name first.)

Pots from The Landscape

  • Viburnum farreri ‘Nanum’
  • Achillea ‘Coronation Gold’

Transplants

  • 2 Buxus sp. Boxwood
